


PASHON provides a weeklong acting intensive for youth grades 3 – 8 that employs storytelling, improvisation, sensory exercises, team building, and performance to help youth develop greater self-confidence, mutual respect, communication, public speaking skills, and increased academic achievement. This camp culminates with a student-generated theatrical performance.
- Summer Drama Camp (July 18-22, 2011)PASHON is also available for in-school and/or after-school workshops including assemblies, classes, and productions. PASHON focuses on the California Visual and Performing Arts Theatre Content Standards. PASHON provides two 10 – 12 week writing and drama programs that employs storytelling, improvisation, sensory exercises, team building, and performance to help youth develop greater self-confidence, mutual respect, communication, public speaking skills, and increased academic achievement. The first workshop focuses on developing acting skills through various creative exercises, journaling, and instruction of theater vocabulary, history and operations. The second workshop focuses on theatre production and performance. This program culminates with a student-generated theatrical performance.

Internship Overview:
We are seeking a part-time intern to help with our 2011 fundraising efforts. This is an exciting professional development opportunity to manage several aspects of the project. This is an unpaid position.
Job Description:
Duties include coordinating volunteers, managing and acquiring items for the silent auction, organize mailings, and work closely with PASHON leadership.
Requirements:
A PASHONate and self-motivated personality with attention to detail. Sustaining donor confidentiality is important. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with basic computer skills (email, Word Docs, internet research). Minimum of 2 hours per week is required for at least 12 weeks. Additional hours may be required as we get closer to fundraising event(s).

The Program Assistant will work primarily in the administrative office in West LA assisting PASHON leadership in daily/weekly tasks and long-term projects to ensure the smooth operation of current/upcoming theatre programs and program-related activities. On occasion, the Program Assistant will work in the field, attending theatre workshops and assisting the teaching staff during tech week and performances.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Assistant’s duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Filing and maintaining various confidential program documents
• Emailing important reminders to teaching/volunteer staff
• Print and organize teaching materials
• E-mailing materials to parents and alumni
• Entering and updating student contact information
• Researching and locating space for workshops
• Logging student survey results
• Creating and updating demographics spreadsheet for each program
• Compiling and copying materials for new programs, trainings, performances, etc.
• Assisting PASHON leadership with the culminating performance and reception
In the Field
• Assisting Technical Design Coordinator, Costume Designer, and Teaching Artists during tech week
• Participating in theatre workshop activities
• Running lines and working backstage with camp students
• Ushering audience and handing out programs on days of performances.
We are seeking a part-time intern to help with our theatrical productions that culminate each Summer Drama Camp throughout the Los Angeles area . This is a creative development opportunity for a PASHONate individual who is interested in working with and developing graphic elements to be used in the productions, video clips, lighting installation, sound effects, audio board, light board, set design and construction. This is an unpaid position.
Job Description and Duties include:
• Creation of graphic elements to be used in theatrical productions
• Producing and editing video clips
• Installing lighting for productions
• Producing sound effects
• Run and install audio system and audio mixing board
• Run light board during production
• Run sound board during productions
• Design and construct sets
• Coordinate and supervise other technical theatre volunteers.
Requirements:
• A PASHONate and self-motivated personality with attention to detail who is willing to work physically hard at times to meet specific goals and deadlines
• A summer commitment of 6 - 8 weeks from the top of July to the end of August 2011
• Must have own transportation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Technical theatre knowledge and experience
• Ability to lift 25 lbs
